  • ✿ if you received a saniderm bandage, try to keep it on for 2-3 days. sometimes the adhesive around the edges will peel, but as long as the tattoo itself isn't exposed, you're good to keep it on! if the tattoo becomes exposed, you can just go ahead and take off the bandage however early.

✿ it's best to remove your bandage after a warm shower and peel it off in the direction of hair growth. this process can be a bit painful so take it off slowly if needed!

✿  once you remove your bandage please wash your tattoo with unscented soap. If the soap you are using has “fragrance” or “parfum” listed in the ingredients, then it is not unscented and should not be used on a healing tattoo. i personally advise using any of the dr bronner’s soap varieties but any form of unscented soap will work! try to do this 2-3 times a day for about 2 weeks to a month.

✿ along with washing your healing tattoo to keep it clean, you should prioritize keeping your tattoo moisturized by using unscented lotion 2-3 times a day as well. you can use one ingredient balms like shea butter, or coconut oil, or other types of lotion like lubiderm or aquaphor! it's important to not over saturate your tattoo with lotion and just apply a minimal amount.

✿ you should also refrain from submerging your tattoo in water, especially avoiding pools and the ocean :( you can work out once you take the bandage off, but try to avoid excessive sweating if possible!

✿ once your tattoo is healed you should try to still consistently moisturize your skin and always wear a non- toxic sunscreen when exposing your tattoos to the sun for more than 30 minutes to prevent fading (and skin damage !!) the better you take care of your skin, the better your tattoos will hold up over time !!
